The City of Seaford owns and operates a sewage lift station located at the Seaford Village Shopping Center. The existing station consisted of an 8’-0” diameter precast concrete wet pit and metal dry-pit located adjacent to the wet pit. The station was constructed in 1986, and the steel dry-pit was approximately 30-feet deep, which presented a safety hazard as it was a confined space and had experienced considerable corrosion in the lower portions of the pit. The station also lacked a permanently installed emergency power source. The City contracted with GMB to design a replacement for this aging infrastructure with a more modern system.
LIFT STATION IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDED:
- Converted existing wet pit into wet well to house new submersible pumping equipment.
- Concrete rehabilitation of wet pit surfaces.
