Helfrich Receives Architectural License

GMB congratulates employee Morgan H. Helfrich, AIA, LEED® AP, on receiving her architectural license in the State of Maryland. Ms. Helfrich passed a series of 9 exams issued by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, as well as completed a 3-year Intern Development Program. Exam topics covered every facet of the building design process, including pre-design planning, mechanical, electrical, and structural systems, site planning, and construction documents and services.
Ms. Helfrich received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Temple University in 1999. She has over 12 years of architectural experience, and has been with the firm of GMB for 5 years. She is specialized in all types of residential design including single and multi-family, renovations and additions, as well as senior living and hotel design. Ms. Helfrich also has work experience in other sectors such as commercial, financial, municipal, and educational. She is involved with all stages of design as a Project Manager, which encompasses client contact, proposals and schematic design through construction administration.
In 2008 Ms. Helfrich acquired her LEED® AP certification, which provides a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles. From 2007 – 2010 she served as a part-time faculty member for Wor-Wic Community College, teaching Auto CAD and Revit credit and non credit courses.
Ms. Helfrich is currently serving as Project Manager for the new Atlantic Community Health Center in Oak Hall, Virginia for Eastern Shore Rural Health Systems, Inc. The facility is currently under design and anticipated to bid in late summer 2011.
